True Food Kitchen

True Food Kitchen

If I had to pick my favorite type of meal, I would say without hesitation it is Sunday Brunch. There is something about a menu that combines breakfast and lunch with friends or family, makes breaking bread even better. Now toss in delicious fresh healthy options that JetSet Tot and JetSet Dad will devour and I’m hooked. On a recent shopping extravaganza to Fashion Island with some JetSet Friends, we stopped in True Food Kitchen for some nosh and good times. Friends, I think I’ve found my happy place.

It has been awhile since I had been to True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach; however JetSet Tot had never been so I wanted to share this cornucopia of goodness with her. I hadn’t had a chance to review the menu before taking off, but I knew worst-case scenario they would have some kind of flat bread option to hold her over. Upon arrival, there was a wait, but it really wasn’t too long, maybe 15 minutes or so. We were brought to our table which was near the open kitchen so the kids loved being able to see all the action.

True Food Kitchen

There are so many fantastic items on both the True Food Kitchen menu as well as the Kids Menu. Everything from the drinks to the desserts looked so appetizing and I found myself torn over what to try. And three cheers for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options!

We rarely get to nosh on the good stuff in the O.C., and there is obviously an impressive list of restaurants. This is also not the type of Sunday brunch we flock to, but all of the dishes sound great. Kelp noodles and red chili shrimp for the win!

  • Thomas Chappell August 26, 2013

I wonder if there is anything like that around Pittsburgh. We love fresh herbs, they just taste so amazing.

  • Pamela August 26, 2013

It’s so nice to find restaurants that go heavy on the veggies, since it can be so hard to eat well when you eat out! YUM!
