A Friendly Summer Travel PSA

Travel with Discover it Miles® card | The JetSet Family

Bitten by wanderlust, I’m always wondering where my next adventure will lead. I’ve quickly come to realize that having the right credit card is crucial when it comes to traveling for many reasons from signature perks and exchange rates to security fraud protection and card replacement services. The last thing you want to be is without a credit card thousands of miles from home.

As a travel blogger, I have also learned first hand the importance of earning miles, going up against blackout dates, and the luxury of having Wi-Fi to make a deadline while cruising at an altitude of 35,000 feet. These are just a few things I refuse to take for granted and they make me appreciate the “fine print” while researching cards.

It should comes as no surprise that budgeting is the secret to the success of travel bloggers and ultimately is the final deciding factor towards your next passport stamp. No matter if you are leading a nomadic lifestyle, or thinking about your next family vacation, having a Discover it Miles® card will give you not only the financial freedom and flexibility to make your travel dreams become a reality, but will get you there quicker with double points the first year and no annual fee.

This summer, using the Discover it Miles® card will allow my family to fly any airline any time leaving our options open. All we have to do is buy a ticket and use Miles to credit our next statement – that’s easy enough. Everyday purchases like gas, food, clothing, sunscreen (and even my electric bill,) will earn 1.5x miles for every dollar spent which can be redeemed as a statement credit toward their travel purchases, including commercial airline tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, commuter transportation and taxicabs.

Not only do the miles never expire, but there are no foreign transaction fees, an annual credit of up to $30 for in-flight Wi-Fi charges and my favorite: A $0 fraud liability guarantee where you are never responsible for unauthorized purchases on your Discover it Miles® card.

So where will you travel with the Discover it Miles® card?

As an introductory offer, Discover it Miles cardmembers will now receive double the amount of miles they’ve earned at the end of their first year – with no spending cap. That gives travelers using the Discover it Miles Card the opportunity to determine for themselves the amount of bonus miles they receive in that first year.

I can see why “miles” card would come in handy as a travel blogger. Got to rake in any free flights you can get right? I wish I could travel more.

  • Good to know about another card that provides points. I’ve heard it’s good to have a couple of these, and since I’m planning a big vacation for 2016, extra points might come in handy!
