The Royce | Pasadena

I’m quickly learning that it would not be a proper JetSet Family getaway unless our pint-sized foodie has the opportunity to experience some sort of fine-dining culinary adventure. Her rules, not ours. So while visiting The Langham Huntington, Pasadena for a JetSet Mom/Tot weekend, The Royce invited us to dine with them and made sure to do their best to impress. While I usually do a once-over of the menu online first, I simply did not have the chance this go around. She’s really expanding her taste for unique foods, so I decided to enjoy the element of surprise for this meal.

Upon entering The Royce, you cannot help not to notice the huge difference between the decor of The Langham Huntington and The Royce. It’s almost impossible to imagine how the two are related, but the sleek and modern decor with the traditional twist was something I welcomed. I just kept imaging that someone dropped a little piece of West Hollywood into a palace.

OK, so maybe I should have looked at the menu first because everything sounded so good. I couldn’t decide – remember, I like to pick, so every small plate sounded amazing. Luckily, Chef Perry Pollaci was excited to have us and celebrated our presence by sending out plate after plate of flavorful goodness.

Every cut of steak is prepared on an Aztec wood-fired grill over White Oak to sear in maximum flavor. The produce comes direct from the local farmer’s market or their organic garden right on the property of The Langham Huntington, Pasadena.

We really had a wonderful evening dining at The Royce and cannot wait to go back. I am definitely going to order up the Grilled Hawaiian Swordfish with black olives, citrus and grilled orange vinaigrette. I mean c’mon, how super fantastic does that sound?

Have you been to The Royce?
