It always seems like I am on a perpetual search for clothing items that are not only versatile, but pack well for travel. This not only goes for myself, but very much so for JetSet Tot. See, there are only a few stores and brands I will allow Tot to wear. No, it’s not because I’m being snotty, but it is because I’m having a harder and harder time finding stylish, yet modest, outfits that are appropriately young. Then I discovered The Matching Dots.
These beautiful blend dresses are not only stylish, but socially responsible and made in the USA. And it is not only momma and bebe who get to be all matchy-patchy, The Matching Dots have designs available for girls from 12 months to 8 years, mommas, dolls and your favorite furry friends.
Connecting the dots.
The Matching Dots sent over the beautiful Lilly dress for JetSet Tot and the Gigi dress for myself to enjoy. We put them to the immediate test when packing them up for our weekend away at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. I didn’t want to over pack, plans were up in the air, temperatures were going to be unpredictable and we had dinner reservations at The Royce. So I needed something presentable and would take care of all of the above.
I couldn’t have packed a better piece. The dress packed and traveled neatly, and when time came to unpack, the standard in-transit wrinkles took care of itself. Within an hour, Tot was dressed and ready to go and she loved the style too. She felt comfortable, but fancy and those are big factors when it comes to our resident fashionista.
I was a fan of the fabric because it was thin enough to breathe when it got warmer, and wasn’t cumbersome later at night when it got chilly and we needed to add a jacket or cardigan. I do feel however it is important to note that I would recommend having your daughter where an undershirt or camisole top under the Lilly because the white color block is thin. Not see through, just fit forming and white.
Designs are true to size, but I did need to go one size up for Tot because she’s very tall. Like string bean tall. So I unless your child has legs for miles like mine does, you should be fine with grabbing her normal size.
