What’s Cooking?

Let me put it this way, you haven’t lived until you’ve had short ribs and vegetables prepared in a tagine. So what’s a tagine you ask? A tagine is a conical shape cooking device that leaves food tender and delicious by marinating in its own juices. I had purchased a beautifully painted tagine from Williams-Sonoma a few years back and it’s a big dinnertime treat for all when I break it out.

Fall Flavors

Each fall, I break out the tagine to make a special dinner for The JetSet Family . The seasonal flavors taste wonderful when made in a tagine and I am thrilled when the fam asks me to make a batch of our favorite red wine-braised short ribs. This works out perfectly because while JetSet Hubs enjoys the meat portion while Kiddo and I devour all the veggies.

The Ingredients

When I decided to make this hearty meal, I made a list for Whole Foods and grabbed some ingredients including lots of seasonal root vegetables. Needless to say, our home smelled so good and it was ridiculously impossible for me to ruin my appetite and not to sneak bites throughout the day. As we were finishing up the meal, Hubs said it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever made, and that was the exact moment I knew I had to share it on the blog.
