Surf and Sand Resort

The JetSet Family | Orange County California (Surf & Sand - Laguna Beach)

I’ve stayed here before.

I really didn’t think I had. But the moment I stepped foot into the room, heard the waves crashing and stared at the white wood slat doors, it was like de ja vous. That night, I checked-in to the Surf & Sand alone because JetSet Dad took Tot to her Father/Daughter Pajama Dance, but all I could think about was how JS Tot was going to lose her every living mind when gets here. The waves are so powerful at night and have such a presence that the room comes with two sets of complimentary ear plugs. I didn’t mind. I had a feeling it was going to be the best night sleep I’ve had in a long time. Not to mention one of the best family vacations we’ve ever had.

I’m so happy to be here.

And look at this cheese plate & wine they welcomed me with. I’m so not sharing. Sorry folks!

I jumped in the shower so I could snuggle up with Jenny Feldon’s book Karma Gone Bad, and I swear it’s the little things that make a hotel room so awesome. Like the smell of shampoo. But not all hotel shampoos are created the same. Surf & Sand Resort loves their guests because I’m showering with philosophy. I’m not just saying this, but it is the best smelling shampoo & conditioner of any hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. And the water pressure was a gift from the rain gods. I think I’m going to like it here. All moms can contest that nothing can ruin a perfectly awesome family vacation than icky hair conditioner. I was really starting to fall for this place.

Enjoy the silence.

Did I mention the rest of JetSet Fam still didn’t get here? I’m basking in the silence and I think this is what Heaven is like.

I was right, Tot couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw how close we were to the water and asked if we could sleep with the doors open. I was apprehensive because of the friendly seagulls; however I cracked the door and closed the wood blinds so we could hear the ocean crash while we slept. It was amazing. This was definitely one of those amazing beach family vacation spots that you dream of.

Surf & Sand

What a truly special place. We spent Saturday outside by the water, and I even had a few minutes to sneak away and enjoy my book before getting ready for JetSet Dad’s birthday dinner at Splashes.

What I loved even more was looking down and being able to clearly hear JetSet Tot & JetSet Dad’s laughter running from the waves. These are the types of family vacations you dream of.

Easy like Sunday morning

Sunday was just as perfect. As a family we ran down to the beach about 7 am and just played. It made us miss our home at the beach so much.

The JetSet Family

The Surf & Sand felt like home and we cannot wait to return to our favorite beach destinations. Not only was the resort family friendly, but in my opinion, one of the the top family vacation destinations.
