Why yes, I did just refer to it as Haute because at The JetSet Family even our cocoa is fancy.

While many start their day with coffee, this family? Nope, we’re all about waking up with hot cocoa — all three of us. And I’m going to let you in on an even bigger secret…it’s a year round thing.

Our typical morning, like most families, runs on auto-pilot. It first starts out with pushing play on a playlist, followed by a mad dash to my Keurig® brewer which I know is ready to go because I refilled the correct water levels the night before just to be on the safe side. But then there are the mornings I’m feeling oh, so fancy and Martha-like.  Suddenly, the buffet has been set up as a  “hot cocoa station” with everything from whipped cream, sprinkles, and vanilla beans, to crushed peppermint and chocolate bar shavings. It puts a smile on everyone’s face and starts the day off oh, so sweet.

Ha! I betcha didn’t know I had that in me.

Smores Hot Coco Recipe

But my absolute favorite? A big warm cup of S’more Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa.  Made with real cocoa and non-fat milk, I’m able to indulge with the push of a button. So it only makes sense that I share with you my recipe and how I make this cup of wonderful rich, chocolaty comfort happen. Not a fan of salted caramel? No problemo. Starbucks® also has Classic Hot Cocoa K-Cup® pods as well and can be found where you buy groceries.

What an awesome way to start each day! The kids and I love hot cocoa year-round, too, but I didn’t think of serving in the morning. Thanks for the inspiration! I’m going to surprise my sons tomorrow!

What a great treat on a cold night. My kids would love this. They like hot chocolate even in the summer. Thanks for the step by step–its something we can try to make together-and easy enough for my 8 year old!
