Shore Hotel

Guess who received an award for perfect attendance? Not one trimester, not two trimesters, but ALL three trimester awards! I still can’t believe she did not miss one day of kindergarten this year. So it is finally time to celebrate summer and that’s what we did. JetSet Tot and I fled to Santa Monica for an overnight slumber party at the beautiful and super swank Shore Hotel and had quite the GNI (girls night in.)

Santa Monica has so many fantastic properties; however I’ve been eyeing the Shore Hotel for awhile. I loved that the Shore Hotel is a sustainable boutique hotel with a sleek modern design and the service was top notch. From valet, to check-in, to the lobby barista, I couldn’t have been more impressed. And it is directly across the street from the Santa Monica Pier. Bonus! (Remember…six year old JetSet Tot?!)

Greetings from Shore Hotel

I was greeted at check-in with a glass of champagne, and kiddo received a beautiful silver box filled with munchies for her to later enjoy as a bedtime snack. This was a perfect treat while watching the glowing neon lights of the Santa Monica Pier or the sun setting over Malibu in the distance from our private balcony.

We had an amazing King Premiere Ocean View room with a fishbowl rain shower, complimentary WiFi, and the bed was fantastic! I’m a bed snob and this passed JetSet Mom’s test. The room was very clean, very comfortable, very stylish and we were extremely pleased. Downstairs, the pool was heated to the perfect temp (considering a little someone had to be in the pool right when it opened at 7:01 a.m.,) and we were positioned within walking distance of some of our favorite places to dine like Blue Plate Taco, The Ivy and Boa. Shore Hotel left not one corridor, nook, or public space neglected. You will understand when you arrive at the underground valet lounge and see that it is nicer than Stefan’s favorite nightclub from Saturday Night Live!

“I loved every part of this hotel. I did not want to leave. I loved that I could watch Nickelodeon while taking a shower, but the warm pool was still my favorite! I loved watching the ferris wheel and I loved the big fluffy white robes. Shore Hotel also have these cool radios next to the bed that have bedtime songs that I liked to listen to. I cannot wait to come back to Santa Monica and stay at the Shore Hotel. Everyone was very nice there. I just hope next time they have jelly beans!” – JetSet Tot

Oh! Before I forget, I do recommend you get one of their signature tea/coffee tumblers during your stay. Not only are they gorg, but they are eco-friendly and you’ll receive $1.00 coffee refills each morning at their lobby bar.

“Trading carbon footprints for those in the ocean sand…”

How great is their motto? I haven’t even gotten to the part where I gush that it is a newly built, gold LEED certified hotel, completely sustainable, has partnered with Sea-thos Foundation, 10% of the building materials were from a 500 mile radius of the property and even designed to maximize natural sunlight, all without sacrificing luxury.  You have my word, this place is a keeper, and a recommended for families. My only regret? That we did not stay longer! Thank you, Shore Hotel for such a great stay and we cannot wait to come back! We are smitten.

Hugs & passports,

– Nicole
