Sheerwater Restaurant

Shrimp Cocktail

For a very special al fresco dining experience, I’d like to recommend Sheerwater Restaurant. Located on Coronado Island inside the iconic Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, Sheerwater has perfectly nailed everything you’d want and expect at a beachside restaurant. View, atmosphere, exceptional service and most of all, an amazing menu selection.

Sheerwater Restaurant

During our stay this past summer at the Hotel del Coronado, Sheerwater invited JetSet Kiddo and I to try their casual twist on a seaside fine-dining experience. It was lovely. Cody was our server for the evening and he truly made the dinner even that more wonderful. His genuine excitement was clearly visible when he spoke about the star of the menu, the sea bass. Unfortunately, I had just had sea bass the night before so I opted for the scallops which he also raved about.

Fresh Oysters

What to order?

I noticed on their signature drink menu that the drink of the day was the Monday Mule. I’m a sucker for a good Moscow Mules so I was excited to try Sheerwater’s version. It did not disappoint.

I really enjoyed it and it was the perfect accompaniment to the oysters and fresh shrimp cocktail we were about to dine on for appetizers.

What else from our experience was a hit at Sheerwater besides the oysters? The Lobster Mac & Cheese was fantastic as were the scallops.

Oh, and make sure not leave without ordering the creme brulee. You can thank me later.

I LOVE Coronado! We’ve been there quite a few times, but never to that hotel or restaurant. It’s going on my list for the next time we visit!
