Circus 101: Clown College Jr.

Send in the Clowns… A very special thank you to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey for inviting us to spend time under the big top.
Over summer break the circus came to town and Kiddo was invited to spend time at Clown College Jr. with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey team. What a cool experience for these children to go deep behind-the-scenes and learn clowning skills like juggling, face painting, comedy + balancing acts from the clown experts and professionals. I honestly never knew Clown College was even a ‘thing’  until now, but it is taken quite seriously with good reason.

She had such a fun time that I wanted to share with you a couple photos of the event and a fun tutorial on how to apply clown make-up.

Step Right Up!

Clown College, Jr. presented by Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is a fantastic opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade from actual members of Clown Alley on how to become a clown.  The special invite-only event took place alongside the open auditions for those with life long hopes and dreams of running away with the circus and becoming a student of Ringling Bros. Clown College.

For our readers planning on attending the actual circus in a city near you, be sure to arrive early to experience several fun-filled interactive elements before the show starts which are included in the ticket price. The Animal Open House allows you to get up-close with the amazing animal stars and the All Access Pre-Show is where families can step onto the arena floor to meet the performers, learn circus skills, and try on costumes pre-showtime.

I didn’t realize clown college was something open to the public. She looks adorable with her little red nose.

That looks like it was so much fun. I had no idea they had this available to do!

How fun! We went to Ringling Bros a couple weeks ago when it came to the Seattle area. It was fun to go to the all-access pre-show but they didn’t do clown make-up. I bet your daughter had a great time; mine sure did!
