Drybar: Peace, Love & Blowouts

Special Event

Nice shoes.

The Drybar in Santa Monica is typically busy with glamazons getting ready for a big night anyway, but on this particular Friday it was packed. Google had invited le creme de le creme beauty bloggers including Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed Blogger award winner to a special event in celebration of their newest tablet geared towards women: the Nexus 7. I had found my people.

Feeling crumby? They can help.

Champs flowed and bit sized hor’deuvrs were passed as each one of us had the chance to tinker with our newest #Nexus 7 toy. I’m going to have so much fun with that thing! Ernesto, the prince of all things Nexus7, had pre-downloaded all the apps he thought would make fab bloggers tickled pink: Instagram, Bloglovin’, Gilt City, Chicfeed, Gmail, G+, Facebook , our favorite magazines- you name it. Oh, and did I mention it had a flip phone? Bring on the selfies!

No cuts. No color. Just blowouts.

The Menu at the Drybar reads like one at your favorite lounge. My hair is very disobedient so I had to go with the Straight Up whether I wanted the Mai Tai or not. As I looked around the shop, I had hair envy unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It was at Level 11.

Manhattan:  Sleek & Smooth

Mai Tai:        Messy & beachy

Cosmopolitan:   Loose curls

Southern Comfort:  Big hair & volume

Straight Up:        Simple & straight.

One day I’ll have Mai Tai hair, you wait. Yes. I. will.

The dirt.

Now let’s talk about their DETOX Dry Shampoo for a minute. Genius. Colored to match your shade, this little lover not only will dust your hair and hide those gray stragglers, but will allow you to prolong washing your ‘do for a day or so. Some are luckier than others.

Drybar also has some fantastic Memberships and Bar Tabs for the more serious hairdo queens. You can opt for monthly dues or special packages and don’t forget the gift of giving great hair, gift cards are available.

What kind of hair style would you pick?
