Happy Hour at FIG & OLIVE

FIG & OLIVE Newport Beach

This visit was a part of our recent food tour of Newport Beach restaurants hosted by our friends at Visit Newport Beach. There were some figs, olives, oysters and a whole lotta happy that hour.

Those following my “Best of…” round-ups on CBS LA know how much I love FIG & OLIVE. To some, it might even come as a shock to you that I had never been to F&O for happy hour. During a recent Newport Beach staycation, we had the opportunity to experience a few Fashion Island restaurants and I was thrilled when I saw this Orange County favorite on the list.

FIG & OLIVE Newport Beach

Located across from the Island Hotel Newport Beach, FIG & OLIVE is the perfect place to enjoy delicious small plates in the lounge or bar area. They recently introduced a new Aperitivo menu offering  FIG & OLIVE Tasting Plates and signature cocktails between 4pm – 7pm. Especially, if you are looking just to stop by and regroup during a shopping trip to Fashion Island, or quick drink with a friend, you cannot beat the atmosphere and vibe of FIG & OLIVE.

For those with small children interested in dining during lunch or dinner, currently, they do not offer a kid’s menu; however JetSet Tot was quite pleased with the items on the regular menu, especially the crostinis. This time she opted for a half-dozen of assorted oysters, raspberry mojito mocktail and shared the FIG & OLIVE Italian Tasting Plate with us. JetSet Hubs and I enjoyed the Piscine and Fig & Walnut Julep which we both loved.

I very rarely visit restaurants that don’t have a kids menu since I have a toddler. This would however be great for me and hubby if I’m ever that way.

I can tell that I would love this restaurant. I always prefer a restaurant that has eclectic fare and from your pics, it appears that this is perfect! Yummy! I want the artichoke and crostini! 🙂

What a lovely restaurant! We haven’t been to Newport Beach in awhile and this makes me want to pack up, hop a plane and go! Keeping on our list for the next time we’re in town.
