Downtown Los Angeles – LA Live is filled with great places to grab grub and refuel, but one of our new favorites is Chef Ben Ford’s spot inside the J.W. Marriott aptly named Ford’s Filling Station. It’s such a great spot and there is something on the menu for the entire family to enjoy, just ask JetSet Tot.
On our most recent visit, we made a pit stop for before getting our groove on at the Taylor Swift Experience over at The GRAMMY Museum. We really didn’t know what to expect, but based on the website, “Chef Ford has created a menu that is a unique blend of west coast flavors and southwest influence,” so we were game.
This was our chance to try a little bit of everything, so we did just that. So what scored big points with The JetSet Family? For starters, we couldn’t get enough of the Bacon Wrapped Dates with goat cheese and mozzarella. I’m not going to lie, we were popping those little bites of heaven like they were candy.
Ham n’ Biscuit Board with domestic ham, potted ham and the most delicious white cheddar-bacon biscuits imaginable; and the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese with gouda, spicy pepper relish and baked beans which JetSet Hubs fell madly and passionately in love with.
The Baja Fish Tacos with Mahi Mahi, jalapeno-cabbage slaw, cilantro and baja sauce were just as flavorful and delicious, but the Winter Mushroom Flatbread Pizza with mozzarella, kale, pistachio, basil and pesto is officially my favorite flatbread in all of Southern California.
Those looking for a veg-friendly dish, I’ve heard fabulous things about the Urban Herbivore sandwich, and the Roasted Beet salad is a great gluten-free option. .
Next time? You can bet we’ll be trying the Shrimp Curry with ginger rice, marash pepper, smoked bacon and garlic naan; and Butterscotch Pot de Creme with mascarpone cream, pecan, candied bacon and sea salt… Oh. My. YUM!
