I’m very excited to “dish” on my latest lunch date at executive chef, Pascal Lorange’s super swank, FIG & OLIVE, tucked inside Orange County’s premier shopping destination, Fashion Island. The Newport Beach location opened back in December; however I hope you forgive me for just visiting. When F&O caught wind that I was still missing out, they graciously extended an invitation to come over for lunch and I was excited to make it happen.

Every once in awhile a restaurant comes along where the pictures I snap during lunch capture how I felt about a meal a million times more than my words.  My recent dining experience at the French Riviera inspired FIG & OLIVE was one of them. Each and every bite during my meal out-shined the last one. It took much constraint and discipline to not continuously dive across the table and “fork” my lunch date’s plate. She ordered Chef Lorange’s Paella del Mar and now? I want the Paella del Mar. That’s what FIG & OLIVE does to you! But good news — she liked me and was willing to share.

Now, I’m willing to share with you, because after begging, pleading and promising my second born child for the recipe — I got it just in time for National Paella Day on March 27th! But you will have to wait a few more days, and then I promise I will link up to it!

What to order at FIG & OLIVE?

Here are the other items I was able to taste. And yes, to answer the million dollar question we are all thinking, I was absolutely still full the next morning!

So what did JetSet Tot think of FIG & OLIVE?

Unfortunately, she had to attend school; however I did bring her home a nice sampling of the day’s dishes. She really enjoyed the octopus and croquettes, but thought the “Spanish Pizza” was out of this world! She and I will definitely be returning to F&O for lunch during one of our next retail therapy sessions!

Hugs & passports,
