Checklist: What to Take in Hand Luggage

notepad

Hand luggage on an airplane is strictly limited in what you can take on board. This is a requirement of aviation security, so you should never violate it. If you want to fly comfortably, you should take everything you need in your hand luggage, but at the same time do not fall under the restrictions.

  • Documents and tickets. This is the most important.
  • Money. You should not put money and bank cards in the luggage, as they can be stolen there.
  • Expensive equipment. Laptop, camera, tablet. All these are fragile and valuable things. For the sake of their safety and security, take them on board the plane.
  • Headphones. They are often forgotten, and at the airport they are sold several times more expensive.
  • First aid kit. Especially if you have chronic medical conditions. If these are specific medications, then you need to clarify the rules of carriage with the airline in advance.
  • Portable charger. There are no outlets in the airplane, and if your phone runs out of power, you will be left without communication.
  • Food: Not all airline fares include food on board. Bring snacks that you can munch on while watching a movie or TV show.
  • Eye drops and cream. The air is very dry on the plane, so moisturizers and eye drops on the flight won’t hurt. Take all cosmetics in travel-size jars of no more than 100 milliliters.
  • Warm socks or a blanket. Airplanes are always air-conditioned and can be cold.
  • Pillow. A neck pillow will brighten your sleep, because on board there is not much space for sleeping.
