As the sun began to set over Pacific City on PCH in Huntington Beach, it might as well have felt like any other gorgeous night overlooking the Pacific Ocean, but not tonight. There was a buzz in the air, an energy you couldn’t ignore. HB felt alive and you could just tell something big was about to happen.
But just how big? A massive explosion.
“And in this moment I am happy. I wish you were here.”
As the sun set in it’s final location, Brent Bolthouse placed his fingerprint on Surf City by celebrating the grand opening of The Bungalow Huntington Beach with a private event + outdoor concert featuring Brandon Boyd, Mike Einziger, and Ben Kenney from Grammy-nominated band Incubus. The band performed a special acoustic set with all proceeds from the evening benefitting the local Huntington Beach chapter of the Surfrider Foundation.
Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, Brandon Boyd walks into mine…
I was immediately impressed. Upon entering The Bungalow Huntington Beach it is apparent this is exactly what this seaside town is begging for. Sophisticated, fun, chic, and particularly charming, the design genuinely hones in on highlighting HB’s history and details making it feel like a night at home with friends at the same time. Well that’s if you’re besties with Incubus of course.
“Pardon me while I burn and rise above the flames.”
So what hits did Incubus play at the grand opening of The Bungalow Huntington Beach? Here’s the setlist and some video: “Wish You Were Here,” “Nice To Know You,” “Anna Molly,” “Drive,” “Pardon Me,” and a cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.”
Last night was the super secret private grand opening party, but doors open tonight for the first time to the public at 5:00pm. The Bungalow Huntington Beach is located at the south end of the Pacific City complex at 21058 Pacific Coast Highway and will be open seven days a week during the following hours: Monday–Friday from 5:00pm – 2:00am, Saturday from 12:00pm – 2:00am, and Sunday from 12:00pm – 10:00pm.
