The JetSet Family is very excited to welcome our very first guest contributor, Tonya Wertman. Tonya is a Southern Californian stay-at-home mother to five-year old son, Lucas and four-month old, Lola. She is a freelance writer and author of her own blog, Letters For Lucas. Tonya recently had the opportunity to review the new BABYBJÖRN NEW Travel Crib Light and is giving one away to one lucky JSF reader!
My family loves road trips, hotels and dining out. We also love staycations, which combine all three! Staycations are fabulous because you don’t have to go very far to still feel like you are really getting away, plus you get to explore a new and different part of your surrounding area.
One of the best parts about staycations is that you can take as much stuff [read: shoes for me and toys and other essentials for the kids] as you can pack in your car. Our latest long weekend was spent in Manhattan Beach, just a short 30-45 minute (depending on traffic) drive up the 405 freeway from where we live. I was thrilled to finally have an opportunity to try out the BABYBJÖRN NEW Travel Crib Light!
Most hotels and some vacation rentals offer rollaway beds and cribs but typically for a fee ($10.00-$20.00 each! Per day!). This fee is difficult to avoid if you are traveling with extra little guests, so being able to bring a portable crib of our own is very nice and the BABYBJÖRN NEW Travel Crib Light was perfect.
The BABYBJÖRN NEW Travel Crib Lightweights only 11 pounds and comes with its own durable, yet ease to tote travel case. I managed to carry it, one over night bag, my infant daughter in her car carrier and keep a hold of my five-year old’s hand as we made our way across the parking lot to the lobby of our hotel.
But, the best part about the BABYBJÖRN NEW Travel Crib Light is it is super fast to set up, one simple movement is all it takes and it’s also easy to move around and fit nicely in a corner of our hotel room. I love the sleek design and the airy mesh sides and sturdy mattress provided the best place for our sleepy four month old.
Taking down the BABYBJÖRN NEW Travel Crib Light is a snap too, although it took a bit longer to get the legs to fold in the correct way, but once I figured it out, it slid back in the travel case effortlessly. Over all, the BABYBJÖRN NEW Travel Crib Light is 100x easier to assemble and stow than our pack and play and because it good for children up to three-years old, we will be using it on all of our staycations and other get-aways for a while!
The BABYBJÖRN NEW Travel Crib Light offers the same great features as the original Travel Crib Light, but a new leg mechanism makes it even easier to take down. This new version is already available in stores and retails for $299.95, but you can win one of your very own!
