Moms and dads, pay close attention because you are going to love me for sharing this West Hollywood gem with you. The JetSet Family broke bread this weekend at celeb-owned hot spot, Au Fudge, and it was everything. To be clear, by everything, I mean it is all of your family-friendly dining dreams come true under one roof, complete with marketplace and treehouse. That’s right, a honest to goodness treehouse!
Overlooking the ultra chic-and-trendy Melrose Avenue, we headed to Au Fudge Saturday afternoon to see for ourselves the place that has become the hot topic in town with the mommy crowd. This past spring, Jessica Biel (cough…cough… that’s Mrs. Timberlake to you and I,) opened the doors to this fab new restaurant which immediately sounded like the answer to our family restaurant prayers. Au Fudge would be a place where parents could dine on delicious Cal-French fare + sip cocktails, while the littles have a whimsical time in a monitored kid’s playroom complete with trained au pairs and creative space.
Drawing us in like a familiar hug, I had a instantaneous feeling our experience at Au Fudge was going to be a great one. It reminded me of the type of place you want to sit down, take a load off, and stay for a bit. Just by looking around I know I wasn’t the only one there who felt this way. How do I know this? Let’s just say not one person in the dining room was paying attention to their phones and that my friends is a tell-tale sign. Everyone around us was unplugged and engaged in good, old-fashion conversation.
I can’t begin to express how much I appreciated our server, Liam. He was so kind + unbelievably helpful when it came to selecting items off the menu. Having known this was our first Au Fudge experience, Liam did a fantastic job at recommending dishes he thought we would enjoy.
Throughout the last year or so, it was difficult not to become slightly obsessed with Au Fudge. See, like many, I was obsessed with watching the Au Fudge details unfold on their Instagram account in true Melrose style. From special gold coins, to magical tastings and decor choices, the design team at Au Fudge invited us along making us feel as though we were a part of the process from conception to completion.
Then there is the gorgeous creative space and treehouse that Kiddo didn’t want to leave. This beautifully designed area where children are welcomed to safely play and create is pure genius. They also offer many camps + classes as well, so make sure to check the AF calendar online before you visit. From Art Camp and Lego Robotics, to movie making, there is so much to do at Au Fudge making family meals so much better.
Hmmm…I wonder if they would accept standing reservations for weekly date night?
Have you been to hot spot, Au Fudge, yet?
