2015 Travel Resolutions

luxury travel for families

My New Year’s resolutions never seem to stick. However, my love for travel and exploring the world definitely kept my interest and keeps me motivated. I tend to write a million lists in detail on December 30th, and decorate my vision board with all of the best places I hope to visit, but there is a big difference between planning, dreaming and actually doing. This year, my goal is to make all of those words and magazine tear sheets become a reality.

2015 Travel Resolutions

RCI, a worldwide leader in timeshare vacation exchange, reached out to The JetSet Family and asked us to share our travel resolutions for 2015.  They even chimed in with their suggestions and recommendations on how to make fulfill these plans over the next 52 weeks. After all, RCI does have a network of nearly 4,500 affiliated resorts.

Commit to Travel

Instead of staring at that list for one more second, book the travel you can take right now. Not sure where to go? Who cares! Regardless, if it is over a weekend, or even a night in your own city, book a room, buy a flight, or secure tickets to a show, game or attraction. The time is now, don’t waste another moment that you will never get back!

“One great way to ensure that you commit to travel each year is to try vacation ownership, or timeshare. With a timeshare, you are essentially buying your vacations in bulk, ensuring that you take regular vacations each year.”

2015 Travel Revolutions

Don’t make travel difficult, it doesn’t have to be. If you have the means make it work, and if you don’t, find a way!

Travel Somewhere New

Sticking with the new year theme, in a few weeks I’ll be posting the Top 100 Travel Spots on my bucket list. Fifty right here in the U.S. and 50 overseas that I’ve been dreaming about visiting since I was a wee little globetrotter.

“This is another great benefit of vacation ownership. You often have the opportunity to purchase a vacation exchange membership through a company like RCI, which allows you to use your timeshare to travel to your choice of thousands of resorts in more than 100 countries.”

Even on our return visit to Hawaii in March, I’m making it a special point to explore attractions and beaches that we missed the first time around.

Less Is More

I have two words for you: Affordable Luxury. In life, you get what you pay for, so when it comes to travel I am not about to skimp. Affordable luxury is all over the place as long as you know where to look. We knew a long time ago that no matter what our financial situation would be, that we wanted to make sure we had the ability to take a family vacation every year. So we decided it was time to invest in our travel future.

“Take timeshare for a test run through rental sites like EndlessVacationRentals.com, which offers great deals on a variety of accommodation options including vacation ownership. By booking through this site, you can rent a timeshare unit before you make a commitment to purchase, and see if this type of vacationing fits your lifestyle.”

2015 Travel Resolutions // The JetSet Family

Anyone who is a frequent visitor to The JetSet Family very well knows we have very high expectations when it comes to where our family is going to rest their weary heads at night. We take location, guest relations, cleanliness, safety and accommodations very seriously. So it might comes as a surprise to a few that I’ve been a timeshare owner myself for the past eight years, but it shouldn’t. It was a wonderful decision, gives us fantastic options and we consider it a great long-term investment.

I would just love to travel more in 2015 with my family. Finding the money is another issue altogether.

  • Rebecca Swenor January 5, 2015

It is important for a family to plan a family vacation each year and my parents did when we were little. We would go visit our grandparents at least once a year. It was always a wonderful time indeed., I have never had the means to own a timeshare but I hear they are great to have. Hopefully soon in the future I will be able to own one. Thanks for sharing.
