And just like that, our globetrotting jetsetter in pink finally has new digs that scream sleek sophistication. Remember when I told you back in June that everyone’s favorite fashionista, Barbie, placed her longtime Malibu pad up on the market with Million Dollar Listing, Josh Altman for a cool $25 mil? Well, our bon vivant toured the U.S. in search of finding the perfect home (with magnificent walk-in closet.) Some guessed Manhattan, some South Beach, maybe even Paris or Ibiza, but it looks like this beach bunny couldn’t leave her strip of the ‘Bu because she renovated her 2013 Barbie Dreamhouse to be turn-key, and is anxious to return to the luxe life.
Malibu’s most legendary gal pal spared no expenses on making this her best home yet. With a keen eye for detail, she has designed a manse with seamless indoor/outdoor living in one of SoCal’s most coveted neighborhood. This three-story Barbie Dreamhouse with balcony and expanding views of the Pacific Coast, boasts six rooms (Living Room, Bedroom, Dining Room, Kitchen, and Bathroom,) two elevators, and is just minutes away from Nobu Malibu and Pointe Dume. Her pretty in pink stainless steel appliances in the welcoming kitchen, is perfect for entertaining Ken, Skipper & friends.
Grand and comforting, Barbie’s new Dreamhouse is clean and classic with a modern twist. She mastered the master bedroom with a canopy bed that features a trundle for ‘Girls Night’ sleepovers and while the home may not have a state-of-the-art screening room, she made sure to have flip through televisions and a walk-in closet complete with lift.
I always wanted an ultra-glam Barbie Dream House, I am not sure how one never landed under the tree, but thirty-something years later, I am putting one together for my daughter and I couldn’t be more excited. Mattel was kind enough to make sure we were one of the first to receive this amazing gift and I can’t wait to show JetSet Tot. She shares my love for Barbie and I feel like this is the ultimate doll playset. Back in June, I told you the story of my childhood obsession with the lady in pink – at a young age I was able to act out my dreams of designer clothing, beautiful homes and far away places. Most of those dreams have come true and now it’s time to pass the torch. I know she is absolutely going to tickled ‘Barbie pink’ (<– see what I just did there,) over the 2013 Barbie Dreamhouse. As a parent, I love the sights and sounds of lights and doorbells that the Barbie Dreamhouses and Cottages lacked while I was growing up. The hours upon hours of happiness this toy home will bring JetSet Tot can’t compare to the smiles on her face. The 2013 Barbie Dreamhouse has hit store shelves with an MSRP of $184.99 and is available also online.
