I think I need to run away. Lately, I’ve been daydreaming about returning to The Spa at The Grand Del Mar for a little quality ‘me’ time. A few days away at the beautiful Grand Del Mar in San Diego might be exactly what I need to mentally prepare for the big 4-0 that is rapidly approaching.
I’m on a mission to be a bit selfish this year. I couldn’t think of a better gift to myself than lots of me time. I also want to begin my fourth decade celebrating all the little things in life that make big difference.
Another reason for my visit is I also need to pay some serious attention to my skin and pamper myself with the spa’s signature Portrait facial. The Spa at The Grand Del Mar is so peaceful that it’s almost impossible not to enjoy every moment. During my last appointment, I was able to sneak a few snapshots to capture how wonderful my experience was.
I was escorted by the spa host down the hallway of framed Hermes scarves to my personal locker where a gorgeous plate of Welcome truffles and a glass of champagne waited for my arrival. I knew immediately it was going to be a spectacular visit. Sure, it might have been 9am, but I made an exception this once. However, the bubbly and bites of chocolate went together very nicely.
Tip: If the weather is nice, be sure to take that glass of champagne outside and enjoy the sunshine.
The Portrait facial with Sharon was one of the greatest treatments I’ve ever received. She was absolutely lovely and I can’t rave about the results more. My skin was left looking smooth and hydrated after receiving the attention it deserved.
After my treatment I have a really hard time pulling myself together. I just want to lounge around, sipping champs and spend the day enjoying the whirl pool and steam room.
