Y’all…I found the coolest place in Nashville!
If you are looking for a great place in Nashville to nosh then look no further because we found it. While Kiddo and I took Music City by storm, we sought shelter from the CMTs and Stanley Cup games at Pinewood Social. A lifestyle blogger’s dream come true, this place had great food, a bowling alley, amazing service, an Airstream, two pools, a bocce ball court, and get this…laptops are welcome during meals and not frowned upon. Oh. Em. Gee. Did I mention this place is an Instagrammer’s slash foodies paradise?
Where to Eat in Nashville?
If only I had gone to eat at this place in Nashville on day one. I’m about to name drop, so remember early spring when I spent the afternoon previewing Big Little Lies with Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman? Both are native and honorary Nashvillians (I think I just made that up, anyway…) and when I told Reese we were Nashville bound she lit up, started to talk really, really fast, rambling all these places I need to see, do, and eat in Nashville. I heard the words: Pinewood Social and for some reason it stuck with me.
Sidebar: The Perfect Nashville Day
Kiddo and I called the Thompson Nashville home during our stay, and Pinewood Social was the perfect match for the vibe of our getaway. However, the one thing noticeably missing from Nashville in general is country music. Sure the place is crawling with the likes of Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry, Johnny Cash museum, and honky tonks, but I heard way more rock and roll during our stay than Mr. Cash.
By request, Kiddo asked to revisit Third Man Records to record another spoken word recording on vinyl and drop off a book for the Third Man Records community library. The entire experience was so cool that I supported this decision 100%. I told her right after we leave Thompson, and I make my 4th shopping trip, yes, you read that correctly, fourth shopping trip to Draper James, we’d head over to Third Man, then to Pinewood Nashville for lunch. In retrospect, this was the start to a perfect day. The only way I would finish it is by seeing a live show at Ryman and quick stop at Robert’s Western World which is a boot shop by day and honky-tonk on Broadway B by night for the, “Live country bands, cold beer & fried bologna sandwiches.”
Menu: What to Order at Pinewood Social
From the moment we pulled up into what looked like an industrial park, I knew I was instantly in love. If the restaurant even closely matched the photos on the website we were bound to have an amazing lunch. We were starving from working up that shopping appetite, so we ordered a little of this and a lot of that, and even took some to go because it was so darn good. I suggest for starters, try the watermelon, lime sour cream, and sherry gazpacho; with the fried broccoli, crispy pork rinds, and the shaved Brussels for the table. And don’t forget the oysters, because c’mon now…oysters!
Now you really cannot go wrong with the entrees. Our favorites were the smoked ribeye French dip with blue cheese, caramelized onions, and horseradish aoili; the fried chicken with cauliflower salad; or the beer battered fish & chips. Oh, and treat your table to the lobster mac & cheese for splitsy.
For those looking for even more sun + fun, hang out by the pool and enjoy delicious tacos al fresco style right inside the Airstream. The shiny silver bullet also serves the best watermelon salad and other lite-bites for those looking to dip & sip or play bocce.
And clearly Kiddo loved this place. She tried and ate everything asking for seconds. If she didn’t notice the thunder clouds rolling in, I’m sure she would have opted for thirds, but pool time always takes priority.
To remember our time at Pinewood social we brought home some bunny socks and a rad Pinewood tee that I’ve lived in since we returned to reality.
