JetSet Tot often reminds me of the real life six year old storybook character, Eloise. She runs around big, luxury hotels just like the little girl with the big red bow, introducing herself to each and every single representative of the property, gaining access behind-the-scenes and having every possible wish granted beyond her own dreams. As a mom, it’s special for me to watch her simply being a playful kid excited of her new surroundings. It was no different when we arrived at Montage Beverly Hills. They must have known what they were getting themselves into when they extended an invitation for The JetSet Family to spend the weekend because everyone knew Miss C. the moment she stepped out of the car.
Montage Beverly Hills had a very special weekend planned for The JetSet Family. From date night at Scarpetta, to Paintbox for JetSet Tot, room service, a spa getaway, afternoon tea and Sunday Brunch, this was about to be a very special staycation. The best part? It was the whole JetSet Family. JetSet Dad wasn’t traveling for business so he was able to join us for all the fun and spend quality time away with us.
Upon check in, we were greeted by the biggest smiling faces I have ever seen. This can be rare and so it is very appreciated. These huge smiles set the tone for our whole weekend, and made us feel welcomed more than any words could do. One of our favorite smiles was from our bellman, Nelson. Not only did he put all of our luggage away, but popped the cork and poured us glasses of champagne to cheers the weekend and enjoy the plate of lite snacks the hotel left for us.
The room was awe-inspiring. Exactly the type Eloise would request and Montage Beverly Hills must have known this, because not only did they leave this welcome note, but made sure Lil’ Miss C. had her very own amenities like a Paintbox robe, velvet slippers, and milk and cookies at bedtime. Nope…we’re never leaving.
Before we knew it, it was time to bring Tot to Paintbox so JetSet Dad and I could get ready for date night at Scarpetta. Paintbox is this fantastic on-property retreat where pint-sized guests can go to play games, make arts and crafts, go on back-end tours of the hotel and simply have fun while their parents are having dinner, or enjoying spa treatments. That evening, Andrea was in charge of Paintbox and JetSet Tot adored her, in fact, so did we. Miss C. had so much fun that she asked to stay longer and was determined to go back again.
While JetSet Tot was taking over the Montage Beverly Hills, JetSet Dad and I were off to Scarpetta for date night. We’ve heard wonderful things, so we were excited for a new dining experience, and have some adult conversation. They had just changed the seasonal menu that day so we were in for some great things. Make sure to check back next week because we’ll be giving you a whole review of our Scarpetta experience.
When visiting hotels, we like to try room service at least once. So for this staycation we opted for a quick breakfast before Tot and Dad headed to the pool and I made my way to the spa for a long overdue facial and much anticipated relaxation. This morning Tot pulled an Eloise because she saw on the in-room dining menu a basket of chocolate croissants from Bouchon and had her little mind set that she ‘needed’ one for breakfast. It didn’t matter that they didn’t have one that morning, because in true Montage Beverly Hills fashion, they made one homemade and delivered the biggest, most delicious chocolate croissant we’ve ever laid our eyes on.
Without a doubt, afternoon tea at Parq was our most favorite part of the weekend. This was our chance to enjoy and nice late lunch and some quality JetSet Family time together. Tot loves tea time and it was so special to her that she was able to share this experience with JetSet Dad. We stopped by the Parq Bar and met Karla who prepared the most amazing afternoon tea.
Of course our fabulous JetSet weekend in Beverly Hills would not be complete without a very special trip to American Girl Place at The Grove. We met with our fabulous personal shopper, Katrina, who once again, braved the crowds and escorted us throughout the store on the busy Saturday night. We were on a mission. Ivy needed a new dress, and Kit really wanted new PJs. I never, ever, ever knew in a million years they needed another buddy. Surprise! As a very special gift, Molly just had to come back to the hotel with us because Miss C. was very sad after this year she’s going on “vacation”.
None of us wanted to leave. We were pretty melancholy to have to leave that Sunday and had zero motivation to pack up. We were stalling with everything we had in us. So we did what any other JetSet Family would do. We soaked up every second possible! Tot went back to Paintbox with her new bestie, Andrea, I packed, then we all went and spent the rest of the morning at brunch poolside at The Conservatory Grill. And life was grand.
On a recent JetSet Family getaway it was obvious, if Eloise had a West Coast home, it would be Montage Beverly Hills. So if it’s good for her… it’s great for Miss C.
Thank you again, Montage Beverly Hills, for having us. We had such a wonderful weekend.
