San Francisco with an Infant

There are few cities in this world that make me swoon the way San Francisco does. We just returned from the city by the bay where we had some work to cover, and most importantly, for Fred & Meg’s nuptials! We made home base for this trip the Mark Hopkins InterContinental.  What an amazing stay! From the location, to the views, to dining at the world-renowned Top of the Mark, everything about this place was wonderful! It was also JetSet Tot’s first First Class flight! She was quite behaved considering JetSet Dad forgot all of her bottles and food on the counter at home! Big sigh and exhale. Thankfully, our driver knew exactly where the closest Whole Foods near our hotel was.

For anyone who has visited, San Francisco is truly a very special place. So much to do, so little time, but never it never disappoints! I only wish I could remember the names and places I visited when I was still Jet-Set Single Lady. Wow. Then again, I wish I could remember the names of the tiny cafes we frequented this weekend, but Saturday was a complete blurrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Typically hotel rooms in cities are on the “cozy” side and that is a very accurate description of the room we occupied at the Mark Hopkins InterContinental. Located in the heart of Nob Hill, our room had quite the impressive view of Grace Cathedral as well as the San Francisco Bay and a unobstructed shot of Alcatraz.  The room was lovely, but the older building was a bit snug for The Jet-Set Family to all share. Would we stay here again? Absolutely, but I will definitely have to look into a larger suite.

The service overall was outstanding. Through the concierge, we arranged a private tour of the city with a fantastic driver from the Virgin America’s Town Car Service. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting this amazing city. We saw historic sites, celebrity homes, San Franciscan icons and back roads of the city we’d never otherwise have experienced. And we did it all at our leisure! The driver also brought us over to Sausalito for some shopping and ice cream which was out of this world!

Hugs & passports,
