Wanna Go For A Ride?
We are proud to call Kia the official car of The JetSet Family.
For my first few years in California it was hard to drive up and down PCH without noticing fancy cars. You know the kind, they all have “ini” and “ari” at the end. They have become so common that now they blend in with the scenery like monuments among a beautiful seaside town backdrop. They are still beautiful to look at, but they’ve become the norm, and I’m about the extraordinary.
I’ve always been drawn to pretty things, but I’ve always been drawn to the best in the room. I’ll walk into a showroom and within seconds scan the layout with my laser beam eyes and I can zone in on exactly what I want. For years upon years this had to do with handbags, shoes, and accessories, never cars, until Kia. I remember the first time I locked eyes on one across the room, I hadn’t given Kia any thought until that moment. I liked what I saw a lot. The color, the shape, the style, but did it have a name? What was it like? What type of personality did it have, and how would it make me feel? Most of all was it ready for a long-term relationship? Because I was.
To Kia or Not To Kia?
It might sound brazen, but I don’t do small talk, so I made my way over, and couldn’t stop staring. My knees felt like jello and all of those teenage crush vibes came rushing back like a bad episode of My So-Called Life. But would this ride treat me like Jordan Catalano and those other “ini,” “enz,” and “ari” cars, or show me the respect I deserve promising me a lifetime of excitement and happiness? So far Cadenza and I are in a serious committed relationship, and everyone has taken notice. At the gas pump recently, Cadenza was hit on when one of those status symbol drivers leaned over and asked, “Hey…is that one of those ‘fancy’ Kias? How do you like it?” With a boulder on my shoulder and sinister smile, it was hard not to smize and be even a wee bit smug when replying, “Love it, and you would too.”
The Kia seats embrace you, the Harman Kardon speakers make every ride a live performance with your favorite bands, and the sleek design makes you stand out among a sea of everyone else keeping up with the Joneses.
Sorento: Pure awesomeness. Nothing more, nothing less.
Once you drive a Kia, it’s almost impossible to even entertain the thought of owning another car. I have my eye on the new Stinger which literally makes my pulse race and gives me goosebumps thinking about it, but at the Los Angeles Auto Show the other day, I was present for the unveiling of the 2019 Kia Sorento and in that moment like a lightning bolt, I knew life as I knew it was about to change. I couldn’t peel my eyes off of the new designed beauty. Bold, beautiful, big, strong, and curvy. The perfect match for our family and I don’t invite newbies into my super exclusive inner circle easily.
L.A. Auto Show: Are You a Leader or Follower?
Those headed to the L.A. Auto Show this week, don’t walk, sprint to Kia and feast your eyes on the Stinger, Niro Plug-in, and my future ride, the 2019 Kia Sorento. Trust me when I say, it’s been through Hell and back and the only word that comes to mind is: Impressive. Now excuse me while I go and count down the days until my new Kia arrives. And make sure to ping me here or on Facebook and Twitter to let me know which models and features you loved most.
