What’s on my Kindle?
I recently took a poll on Facebook and asked friends to tell me their favorite books. See, I’ve fallen head over heel for my Kindle and I basically take it everywhere. I also have it linked up to my laptop and iPhone as well, so I can access my books wherever and whenever. It’s pretty fantastic like that, I even have cookbooks on there. And don’t expect to find Tolstoy or Dostoyevsky – those are my summer reads.
Last Night at Chateau Marmont // Lauren Weisberger
This makes complete sense if you know me one bit. Between my love of Chateau Marmont and my obsession with The Devil Wears Prada, well this my friends is like a dream come true.
Spin // Robert Rave
I remember the rise of NYC’s PR dream gals all too well. I was done with college, working in the industry and by night tagging along with friends to some of Manhattan’s most exclusive clubs. The thought of becoming one of these highly sought after publicists was a dream. This book brings me back to the good old days, and makes me grateful that some dreams don’t come true.
Welcome to the Monkey House // Kurt Vonnegut
Sometime in my early-twenties I was introduced to Kurt Vonnegut’s short story Long Walk to Forever. It changed something in me. It stuck with me. Now I cannot go more than a few weeks without reading it word for word. I was never able to personally identify with it, but I remember the first time I ever read the words. I could vividly imagine the scenery, the characters, and every single tiny detail. I felt like I dreamt it once before in a dream long ago.
Most Talkative // Andy Cohen
Top of my bucket list for 2014 is to be invited to watch a taping of Watch What Happens Live from The Clubhouse. I know, wishful thinking, but if I don’t put it out there, it will never happen. But until then, I will happily settle for a copy of Andy Cohen’s memoir Most Talkative.
The Dirt // Motley Crue with Neil Strauss
I stinkin’ loved this book. As in LOVE this book. Are you the least bit surprised? Pfft. I mean it IS a New York Times Bestseller. The band, the era, the Sunset Strip, the stories. Sure you might feel like you need a Silkwood shower after the first few chapters, but it is THE book is a must read for all serious rock and roll fans. And I promise, you will never read anything like it again.
Karma Gone Bad // Jenny Feldon
If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve noticed I’ve been talking quite a bit about this book. Here on the blog, on Instagram, on Facebook, you name it – I’ve spread the word. No, not because I happen to think Jenny is the bees knees, but because her book is SO GOOD. You’ll find yourself laughing, sighing, cringing – just one big ball of emotions. And you won’t be able to put it down!
The Bling Ring // Nancy Jo Sales
Yes, I am a mid-aged teen obsessed with pop-culture other vapid time wasters. Sue me.
What would you like Santa to leave under the tree? A KitchenAid Mixer, Keurig Brewing System or Kindle?
