Test Drive with Kelley Blue Book

I would hardly consider myself a “gear head” by any means, I would probably say more of an afficionado of fine automobiles if you will. For as long as I can remember, even as a young child, I’ve had a deep appreciation for luxury cars. This was not something ever taught to me, I simply always had a keen eye and fondness for nice things. Then again, I still do. I can vividly remember being present at a car dealership and even as a toddler basking in the new car smell, I felt compelled to compare the leathers and small details of craftsmanship between each of the cars on the showroom floor. I personally wanted to design and pick every detail of our new ride so very badly.

Now fast forward to the present. I still have the same high regard for vehicles, but the checklist in my head is far greater than the one I had when I was 4. It goes well beyond what she looks like, and how her leather feels to the touch. More importantly, she needs to be just as beautiful on the inside, if not more than she is on the outside. Because it’s her inner beauty is what’s most important.

This week, auto experts, Kelley Blue Book recognized my passion for cars and has generously invited me to spend a few days at their Irvine, California Headquarters for the first-ever blogger Kelley Blue Book Ride-n-Drive and KBB Best Buy Awards immersion. From value and safety to comfort and durability, Kelley Blue Book is interested in finding out what is important to us and our readers when in the market for a new car.

When it comes to buying a new vehicle, I take things very seriously. I may love negotiating the deal, but I also have a long laundry list of deal breakers. Car buying is a huge investment. For many, the second biggest next to purchasing a new home, so I don’t take this process lightly at all. That’s why I am excited to meet with the KBB team to expand my knowledge on the overall car buying process.

Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards “Honor the top new model-year vehicles available in the U.S. market, (regardless of whether it’s all-new or not), in 12 major categories, along with an overall winner (chosen from the winning list of 12 segment winners). In addition to an exclusive look at the rigorous evaluation and testing process by KBB.com’s expert editorial team, I will have a chance to get behind the wheel of a number of 2016 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award Finalists in the family-friendly Midsize SUV and Luxury SUV categories.”

We use KBB ever time we sell or purchase a vehicle. We just sold and purchased a vehicle this summer and did all of our homework on KBB. I think that would be fun to go to their headquarters and see the behind scenes things.
