iheartoc Giving Day 2015

iheartoc

In 1999, I fell hopelessly in love with Orange County. I was twenty-something, just a year or two out of college, and for as long as I can remember I wanted to desperately escape the east coast and live my life in beautiful California.

I’m so happy I did.

#iheartoc Giving Day

Now it’s my turn to give back and return the love to the place my family calls home. This year, I am supporting Orange County Community Foundation’s first-ever #iheartoc Giving Day. Beginning April 21, 2015 to April 22, 2015,  donors will have just 30 hours to participate in this virtual event, an online “telethon” of sorts, and raise $2 million for nonprofits of Orange County. There is no doubt in my mind as a community we can’t make this goal a reality. And with over 350 Orange County charities participating, your donation will stay local and benefit the community as a whole.

Give Where Your Heart Lives

Would you like the opportunity to give back? I’m so happy to announce that the Orange County Community Foundation is hosting a fabulous contest and giving one of our lucky readers $150 to grant to the OC nonprofit of their choice! Please show your support by entering the #iheartoc giveaway below.

Visit iheartoc.org for more details about OCCF and to find your favorite OC nonprofit. You can also make a difference by following OCCF across social media on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

On behalf of Orange County, OCCF and the numerous OC nonprofits, thank you and I hope you will join me in making a difference on ioc Giving Day.

What an awesome idea! I wonder if there’s something like this is Rhode Island!

My father lived in Orange County for a period of time for a job. He always loved it out there. I think if he didn’t have us kids he might never have come back.
