What to Bring to Conferences
Anyone who knows me, or has ever attended a meeting, or conferences with me know I am always “packing” a few crucial necessities.
1.) My cell phone, because even though I turn it off, I’m still like Linus with my security blanket and it’s never out of my reach.
2.) My eye glasses. Something happens when you get old and that once crystal clear, crisp eagle eye vision begs for $5.99 readers from the local pharmacy and Target.
3.) JetSetFam business cards because I’m still old school like that, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve struck up conversations because of them which led into follow-up business based alone on the cards on the artwork.
4.) A portable electric chargers. Two to be exact. There is nothing that bums me out than
5.) My durable Kate Spade spiral notebook because more times than none, majority of the networking and partnership deals go down not inside the sessions itself, but in the lobby during breakouts when people are grabbing water, checking their phones, and simply catching up, getting to know each other.
6.) And while I normally am never caught without a laptop or tablet, I cannot wait to saunter into Mom 2.0 Summit next month with the Google Pixelbook. This lifesaver will give me the means to take as many notes as possible without skipping a beat.
While out and about at conferences, meetings, or in flight, I depend on Google Pixelbook for everything from accessing my presentations with Google Drive for Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Photos and more. You can always download your favorites from YouTube Red and Google Play Movies to enjoy even without Wi-Fi. Which is a BONUS when in transit.
So what is a Google Pixelbook and what makes it so great? This new high performance Chromebook with Pixelbook Pen1 smart stylist, enhances the way you work and play. It’s also the very first laptop with the Google Assistance built right in to maximize speed thanks to minimal research.
I’m a personal fan because of the size. The unit’s ultra-thin design filled with a vast collection of apps, is perfect for your lifestyle needs. Powered by Chrome OS, you can rest knowing you’re protected by the latest security and software features.
We have a few Google Home units throughout our home, so at any given time you can hear one of us saying, “OK, Google play… Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Coldplay,” you name it. Well, the new Google Pixelbook has the same “Ok Google” capabilities which I love on the road. “Ok Google, what time zone am I in?” “Ok Google, what time is it in California?” “Ok Google, what the weather for the next few days?”
You can even access it with Pixelbook Pen1 (sold separately) : simply press and hold the button, then tap the pen on Pixelbook’s screen to get help from your Assistant. How cool is that? And let’s chat about what could possibly be the most important thing: The battery life. Battery performance is based on a mix of standby, web browsing and other use. Charging time requires a battery to be at least 5% charged, the device to be inactive, and use of the included charger.
So here are the specs: At just 10.3mm, Pixelbook is Google’s thinnest laptop ever, with a lightweight aluminum construction that enhances portability. The 360° touchscreen and versatile 4-in-1 design will seamlessly adjust to whatever you’re doing, too. You can sketch or edit photos, stay productive with GSuite apps that Drive automatically backs up to your device5, and enjoy on-or-offline access to movies and TV shows with apps like Google Play Movies and YouTube Red.
Bonus: Save $100 between March 25, 2018, and April 7, 2018, when purchasing a new Google Pixelbook from Best Buy.
