Où va le nouveau chic ?
I’ve spent a lifetime dreaming of the day I get to take my daughter to Paris. Even if we could just spend a quick whirlwind mother/daughter weekend on a whim in the City of Lights, it would be a memory the both of us would hold near and dear to our hearts for the rest of our lives. Kiddo and I are preparing for our upcoming trip to Paris, so in order to properly prepare our itinerary, I asked her what was she most looking forward to. Her response? “Oh, Mom, you know…the usual…the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Versailles, cheese, candy, macaroons, ice cream and lots and lots of shopping. Like REALLY good shopping.”
Well now, I’m certainly glad that is settled. I’m down with all of that, where are our passports?
The Ultimate Shopping Experience: Galeries Lafayette
So what if I told you there was a spot with incredible food, and even better shopping and would allow us to shop until we drop, yet still have plenty of time to see all the wonderful places Paris has to offer? Copains, welcome to Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. The must-visit shopping destination for tourists seeking the latest high-fashion trends and gourmet dining. In a land where style and fashion reigns supreme, we’ve found the epicenter.
And with Fourth of July just around the corner, over Independence Day, Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann is extending special opportunities exclusive to American clientele. Imagine this, a complementary pair of Seine river cruise tickets with your in-store purchase. Suddenly, your trip just got oh, so much better.
Founded in 1908 at Boulevard Haussmann, the seven floors are home to French and international designers housed in a historical main building in Paris. With It features cafes and restaurants, a gourmet food market, dedicated men’s store, home furnishing department, and VIP lounge with personal shopping services.
But the pièce de résistance has to be the terrace with views of the Paris skyline, including the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre. Or perhaps it’s the free art gallery “La Galerie des Galeries” on the first floor.
Red, White and Bleu 4th
Fourth of July with a French twist sounds delightful, doesn’t it? Especially, with shopping bags filled with red, white & bleu patriotic picks available at Galeries Lafayette. And you can bet my shopping bag will have these amazing bleu Celine sunnies, because, “Bonjour ma belle. Je pense que je t’aime.”
