What I’m Wearing: Athleta

Athleta Spring 2014

Oh, Athleta… how I love thee!

So it’s not every day Athleta approaches you and offers to send you on a shopping spree to snatch up goodies from their new Spring 2014 collection. The fact that I get to style my own looks with Athleta pieces from either online or at the Fashion Island store in Newport Beach, well I was a very happy girl. I jumped at this challenge — I wasn’t going to miss out.

ATHLETA 30

Do I really need another pair of yoga pants?

Yes, just not the same ol’ style. Athleta has brought comfort to a whole new level that I never dreamed existed. Personally? This challenge came along just I was growing tired of being a Yoga Pant Mom. I simply felt just like everyone else in the car pool pick up lane, but I was not ready to give up the comfort. I wanted something fresh. Yoga pants can be so 2007.

I also didn’t want to look like a schlep when I traveled. I have been dreaming of the perfect cozy lounge pants for flights longer than I can remember. What about early morning hotel Starbucks runs? You know the ones I’m talking about. When you wake up early on vacation, you don’t necessarily feel like working out, yet still want your latte and don’t want the other fitness patriots to judge? Guess what girlies? Athleta has it. Everything. All of it.

Fit Style vs. Street Style?

Decisions, decisions… so do I buy new clothes to kick-start my fitness routine? Or go the opposite direction and buy something for date night? The dresses were adorable. Hot yoga? Yes, this is something I’m challenging myself to this month! Travel Clothes? Always a necessity. I’m going with the Street Style for the quick weekend getaway!

Athleta Spring 2014

So what ATHLETA favorites are being packed for my next trip?

At the very tippy top of my list are the Odyssey Bettona Boyfriend Pants – Oh. My. Goodness. These are the pants! The stylish, cozy-bozy, pants I’ve been searching high and low for! I snatched these up in Black and I cannot wait until the shale ones come back with me. $89

The Sunscape Sweater in Flint Grey is my favorite top for Spring 2014. It’s open pointelle sticking is beautiful and the idea lightweight cover up for your carry-on bag. This is another piece I’m ga-ga over. I cannot resist the perfect hoodie. $89

And can we please discuss the Printed Go Anywhere Halter Dress? LOVE. Especially, in the Thistle Purple Stripe. This is a winner for apres-beach while sipping something tropical. $89

Now I’m going to get serious. Feast your eyes on this gem. The Printed Santana Maxi will earn you stares of envy. How amazing is this dress? The Light Coralade will not only get you noticed, but will make you feel even more beautiful than you already are. $108

When it comes to bathing suits, I’m a stickler. I want something that is trendy, comfortable and that looks great. The Shirrendipity Halter Swim Dress is all that and more. Not only does it come in more colors than a mood ring, but is super flattering for hiding flaws. $79

Best part? Athleta also carries the perfect accessories. From sunglasses to handbags (Oh, my goodness – just wait until you see a picture of my new Cari handbag. I’ll post a photo on Instagram – it’s in transit & BEYOND,) all you need to do is pack the stuff and you’re off to your next fabulous getaway! I also love that all of these pieces go with either cute gladiators or my favorite Gizeh Flip Flop by Birkenstock which they also carry.

Hugs & passports,

– Nicole

I love yoga wear! I have a confession, I have a part that I bough while pregnant that I love to wear as weekend lounge wear. But I love the idea to look for items for the plane. It seems there are good possibilites. here.

After a long hiatus from Athleta, I’m definitely a fan again. I was given the opportunity to try out a free item when I went to NYC during Thanksgiving when they opened their Flatiron store and not only were the people who worked at the store lovely and helpful but the clothes were so stylish!

I have a fitness wear addiction and now Athleta is part of the mix. I chose my Athkwta capris to do my 8 mile Rose Parade Run on new Year’s morning and plan to buy another pair of pants (and maybe a top) for my upcoming SoCalRagnar race in April.

  • Zoe Diaz February 7, 2014

Wow! What a lucky girl you are. I’ve never tried any of their workout gear, but now I’m interested in seeing if there’s one nearby. Fun post!

  • April @ illifit February 7, 2014

I love Athleta too! Their work out gear is so comfy and stylish. Did you go with black of brown for your new Cari handbag? I love them both.

  • Elisebet F February 7, 2014

I’ve only seen their clothes online, but everything looks really comfortable and stylish. I would love to have workout gear that’s a little more trendy. I usually end up running errands after working out, so it would be nice to have some pieces that could function as street wear as well.

  • Carolyn West February 7, 2014

Such cute clothes and yes we need more workout clothes. It is easier to workout when your clothes are cute and you are styling.

Have not tried their clothes either! But wow, love the look 🙂

  • Kristi February 7, 2014

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Athleta brand. Part of what inspired my “get fit for 40” campaign was their winter line catalog that I spied while visiting my sister over the holidays. They nail the “pretty AND strong” category. Great detailing and awesome gym-to-mom transitional gear! Cool!
