Afternoon Tea at Montage Beverly Hills

Afternoon Tea at Montage Beverly Hills

Our afternoon tea at Montage Beverly Hills inside the beautiful Parq Bar was one of the best afternoons The JetSet Family has ever spent together. JetSet Tot is a big fan of afternoon tea, and I absolutely love spending that time with her; however JetSet Dad always misses the fun. We recently spent the weekend at Montage Beverly Hills and they extended an invitation to spend Saturday afternoon sipping tea and enjoying bites of delight.

JetSet Tot broke out her finest dress and was so excited to raise her pinky with JetSet Dad. She couldn’t wait to act prim and proper just like Eloise. I swear, this kiddo, dress her up and you’d think she just walked out of Miss Porter’s Finishing School. She sat up straight as an arrow, napkin on lap, and ready to show JetSet Dad the proper use of the small fork. I may joke that my child can be Godzilla, but she sure does love ‘fancy’ like her mama.

Especially for Dad. To be fair, JetSet Dad was all game, I mean he likes tea, but he also loves the 60″ flat screen waiting up in our room with the football game on. But he was completely present and into it because he could see how happy it made JetSet Tot. And then he saw he’d be treated to a proper Gentleman’s Tea consisting of his choice of tea, house scotch, sliders, pie & cake, and well, let’s just say he was quickly up for the challenge.

JetSet Tot was all about the Royal Kid’s Tea with Nutella sandwich, PB&J, grilled cheese, assortment of pastries, and “champagne mocktail” and I was ready to toast the fabulous weekend with a glass of Veuve Clicquot which is served with the Royal Tea.

Teas, teas, and more teas. The selection of teas went on forever. I really wanted to tast the Golden Pomegranate Montage Exclusive Blend (rooibos, rosehips, orange peel, lemon myrtle tart, smooth & sweet,) and JetSet Dad was pretty jazzed about the Winter Wonderland (vanilla, caramel, and mint.) We ordered the Tisane Passionberry Fruit for JetSet Tot (peach, apricot, apple, hibiscus, and raspberry,) which we all loved trying.

Little Bites of Heaven. The tower of goodness came out to our table and our eyes became wide. There were so many sandwiches to choose from like Egg Salad, Chicken Salad, Smoked Salmon, Vegetable Crepe and English Cucumber, but the Roasted Beef with candied shallot-date marmalade on a cheddar cheese biscuit was out of this world.

JetSet Dad hoarded the traditional and sun-dried cherry scones with lemon curd, raspberry jam, and devonshire cream, but JetSet Tot monopolized the pastries. From the Lemon Mascarpone French Macaron, Milk Chocolate & Caramel Bar, Brown Butter Madeleine, and Passion Fruit Meringue Tart, Raspberry-Yuzu Napolean, White Chocolate Mousse, and a Spiced Apple Profiterole.

The most special part of our afternoon tea was meeting the fabulous Karla. I really wish we snapped a photo with her. She was so wonderful, and not only did we enjoy our conversation immensely, but she brought JetSet Tot up to the harpist to learn how to play a few chords. We cannot wait to return to Parq and visit with Karla. We’re so happy she was such an integral part of our experience. She’s absolutely lovely.
