The JetSet Family would like to extend a very special thank you to Kia for allowing us to test drive the new Kia Forte EX.
It has been awhile since I’ve mentioned how much I love Kia, so I thought I would remind you. This time around, The JetSet Family found ourselves behind the wheel of a Platinum Graphite Kia Forte EX (MSRP: $26,400.00) while visiting Newport Beach. Even in a sea of luxury sports cars, the Kia Forte EX stood out and turned heads up and down Pacific Coast Highway.
Smaller than my first crush, the Kia Optima, the Forte was still had ample room and kept all the passengers very comfortable throughout our journey. It also had plenty of trunk space to fit our three weekender bags. Whether your family is planning a road trip for 50 miles or five hours, there are four key factors that make the drive complete: an efficient Navigation System, satellite radio, exceptional fuel economy (26 city / 39 highway) and bottom line safety.
Let’s face it, out of all the cars we regularly test drive, Kia sets the bar. Especially, when comes to technology, Kia is superior. This Kia definitely packed a punch off the line, but responsibly. The vehicle had enough “oomph” off the line, and in highway merge situations as needed, without being considered a “speed demon.”
Newport Beach is such a beautiful town. It’s also a fantastic place to end your weekend with Sunday Drive along the coast. So this is exactly what we had in mind for our time at Balboa Bay Resort. The weekend found us cruising Newport Harbor on an electric Duffy boat, a quick ferry ride to Balboa Island, dinner at Fashion Island and brunch in Newport Coast. I really can’t decide which were better…the views or the food!
Duffy Electric Boat Company
What a fun time for the whole family. Seeing the ins and outs of Newport Harbor on these electric boats are a blast. Tot was our captain for the adventure and we cannot wait until the weather gets a bit warmer and we go again. www.duffyofnewportbeach.com

Sticking with the standard Southern California diet of organic, farm-fresh market salads, seafood plates and vegan-friendly fare, Babette’s is on the fast-track of becoming Newport Beach’s best weekend brunch / lunch spot. You can’t help to appreciate Babette’s dishes with farm-picked produce and locally sustainably-sourced meats and seafoods which support local purveyors. www.babettesoc.com

Fig & Olive
FIG & OLIVE is the perfect place to enjoy delicious small plates in the lounge or bar area. Especially, if you are looking just to stop by and regroup during a shopping trip to Fashion Island, or quick drink with a friend, you cannot beat the atmosphere and vibe of FIG & OLIVE. The Aperitivo menu offering FIG & OLIVE Tasting Plates is fantastic! www.figandolive.com
