2014 Golden Globes Predictions

Without a doubt, the Golden Globes is my absolute favorite award show of the season. Why? Well let’s just say the Hollywood Foreign Press is brilliant for filling a ballroom at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with A-list celebs and free-flowing Moët & Chandon. So while half of Hollywood’s elite is tipsy, ready to act a fool, the other dry half is seated with grumpy cat faces looking like they are about to have a root canal sans novocaine. The mix is absolutely fantastic. But we must not forget the opening monologue. Watching the visible fear of each celeb and nominee holding their breath to see if they will be targeted with a passive aggressive comment by the evening’s host is TV’s best reality moment every single year. Did I mention Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting and delivering these snide remarks? BRILLIANT.

I’m also a big softy for the luxe, glitz and glam. I love the red carpet, the fashions and the girly side of the event. I personally hope to see black, black and more black. I also cannot wait to see who is donning my favorite designers: Tom Ford (Bradley Cooper 2013), Elie Saab (Lea Michele 2013) and Oscar de la Renta (Zooey Deschanel 2013). I also loved, loved, loved Amy Poehler last year in that gorg tailored tuxedo from Stella McCartney.

I’m sure I’ll be Twittering live on Sunday during the red carpet, so come join me! @jetsetfam on Twitter. This year I have also been invited to two Golden Globe gifting suites and will be reporting directly from them on Instagram.

But enough of that, here are the nominees I’m rooting for. Some because they did a fantastic job, and others simply because they look like a party in a bottle and I think their acceptance speeches would be FANTASTIC to watch unfold from the stage.
